Three key things I'd like to see...

Post by Legacy » Thu Jun 02, 2005 8:49 pm

I love this game, but I'd like to be able to fight wars with little or no naval conflict, either by creating our own missions with an editor or by having a land war/continents mode of play.

Second would be the ability to set city rally points for poduced units(I use a lot of transports and it'd be nice for tanks to all meet at one spot to load.

Third is multiplayer, of course.

A comment I'd like to add is that it is my observation that CM is probably your most posted about(and hence most popular) game is because it has a lot of opportunities for the user to make the experience unique. If that could be incorporated in MoAB, it'd probably make it twice the game it already is. I'm not sying it's a bad game, it is awesome, but I'd like to be able to have more than a couple combo boxes for the configuration of my gameplay experience.

MoaB does need an overhaul and that should happen sometime this year.

I think the best thing for moab would be an easier way to play it, rather than telling a unit to move and then switching to the next so fast, it gets hard and i make a lot of mistakes. If you had to click on a unit to tell it where to go, and not always be selecting a unit, it would be easier. you could have a button to go to the next unit still so you could play the old way if you wanted.

Then the possibility to forget units on any given turn arises.

And possibly some way to negotiate and buy/trade/sell/give units for peace. Maybe even exchange maps. (Am I making this into Civ 3? )
My thanks and best regards to all my former submitters.

I think the game, as is, is great. Just needs some interface improvements like the one mentioned above. Eliminate the line and make the current unit blink. You've already mentioned you'll be slowing down the game and unit movement and that will help a lot. Next and previous unit buttons with hot keys. Maybe increase the maximum map size. Maybe improve graphics somewhat. But please don't change the game itself (like adding diplomacy unless it's a toggle). I like the game just the way it is. Its simplicity is what really makes it good and very playable.

And here's a quote from a post I made some time ago:
It would be nice if when there is a battle involving the player's units there was a small delay maybe .5 - 1 second while the battle was going on along with a visual representation of the battle like maybe a small star halfway between the two squares involved.

Actually, the more I think on it, the next and previous buttons aren't necessary. The game already has two next buttons and going back one will almost never happen. Going to the next unit automatically when movement is done works well.
