I admit it:( I have cheated yesterday:(
I admit it:( I have cheated yesterday:(
I created a script using the macro scheduler.
I used record and recorded a mission where nothing happens and you win right away and get 4 credits for doing nothing.
So I made it repeat and now I cheated to mission 335.
I have tons of credits now and can test out my custom ships.
I feel bad about it but I am only going to use it for testing custom ships.

so what. You are just trying to get people to understand how smart you are. It's not like I care.

Umm.. do we have to take stabs at each other? Regardless of Quorad explaining how he did it/showing off, the point still stands, even if cheatings been discussed often before.
Guilt is something that hasn't been discussed before. I've cheated in CM as well as many games. Generally I only feel guilty if I use cheating to acomplish something.
Eg, cheating for all weapons to kill a boss
However, often i can justify my cheating
Eg, my save in descent 3 went corrupt so I loaded an old save and cheated to get to the level I was on, although i had cheated I ended up worse off, with a seriously reduced weapon payload.
In my view that kind of cheating is perfectly reasonable. I think cheating to test custom ships can be justified, so long as its not abused. In a game where you can't save, I find myself sticking to what I know rather than taking risks with prototype designs. I never was a gambler.
But of course its all opinion, I'm sure in some peoples eyes thats totally cheating and I can't argue with that because it literally is!
Whoops I've wondered off the topic of guilt a bit

I wasn't really trying to show off.
Anyone can do it. It has a record feature in macro schedular.
You can do anything like do a mission and then stop it and edit it so no pauses are in the script(just delete the line that say wait # seconds) and then copy it and paste it a bunch of times and there you have it. Very easy stuff.
I can't do more complex things though.
But I am learning. Thanks for all your input.
I post alot because I would like discussions.

You talk.
And everyone already knows I am smart and I don't need to post on a forum to prove it.

Yeah, I have to agree. It's hard to know if someone's smart even if you know them in real life, let alone simply reading their posts on a board. That's why IQ tests are so complicated to score.
And about the cheating to test custom ships, I think that's fine. I mean, it's not like you're gonna brag about getting to mission 335. One of the most annoying things about designing expensive custom ships is you eventually have to test them, which is not something you want to do when you're worried about dying.

maybe now you'll get bored with the game and stop filling all corners of this forum with your attention seeking cr*pQuorad wrote:I created a script using the macro scheduler.

Critical Mass Tester
To test your expensive ships you could also use my program, which allows to play with a fully customizable commander:

Go away socks. You are only trying to bring people down and you are surely not doing any good. It's not like you are part of this forum anyway.socks wrote:maybe now you'll get bored with the game and stop filling all corners of this forum with your attention seeking cr*pQuorad wrote:I created a script using the macro scheduler.

I must say that this is totally ridiculous to fight over and totally immature. I mean, who wants to hang around a forum with flame wars 24/7? As my grandpa always said, "We can agree to disagree"... and I always leave it at that
