Here's a suggestion.
you should make it possable to edit the original ships that are already there.

The problem with that is that the computer uses those ships so it's nice if they stay constant. Otherwise you could edit all the ships to being useless except for one and you could buy that ship all the time while the computer has to play with the rubbish ships!

here's another suggestion:
you should make a feature that could play back a game so you could see what you looked like. that would be really cool. :D

Yes, that's something I'd love to do! People could email each other their best moments. It's just a matter of finding spare time to do this though.

Here is a trivial way to do something half way decent.

Sean, you could just save the game before the end of every turn. (And group them into a single file). So when people want to playback, just load up the first save, click end turn automatically. Then load up the second save, etc.

Bear in mind thought that each saved file is nearly 1Mb big, so if you played a game with 100 turns you would need 100 Mbs of hard disk space to store it in!

You should also be able to see the mission results screen after a replay.

EDIT: You could use the "Print Screen" key to take a snap shot of your screen, then paste it into MSPaint.
