Suggestion for rule change

Post by LesH » Thu Dec 22, 2005 9:20 pm

I find quite often one player can get some 'momentum' going on their turn , where they have sufficient armies to eliminate other players, cash in their cards, and keep going, and the other players just get rolled up without a chance to fight back.

To prevent this, I propose a rule option where you can only take over one territory then control passes to the next player. Control goes around the table the number of rounds equal to the number of players before more armies are granted (eg. if there are 4 players, control will go around 4 times and each player will have 4 attacks). Next round each player gets reinforced at the start of their turn.

Comments? Would slow things down but give the underdogs more chance to fight back.

In our board game version (UK), you don't get to hand in the cards you gain until the following turn, even if (after killing someone) you have 5 or more. That pretty much takes care of this problem... perhaps Sean should add that as a rule option?

Much better option then the one posted IMO.
