lololol

Nah, I just had a discrepancy. How can a missile with +/- 40 Turn (orik) out-turn a Super Fighter with +/- 77

nope. It tracked right behind me for two full turns. (like, turns, not revolutions)

It out-turned me fiercely

and many times the slow turning enemy ships easily dodge daycorns
wow, thats stupid. i guess u got hit because the missile moves faster so even though it turns less, it moves a greater distance to the side

My bet is that it's all about geometry: sometimes they just got the right angle.

turn against turn. 40 against 77. I repeat, it followed me for two full turns, a full 154 degree turn. It had zero deflection when I started to turn. probably....20 or 30 degrees deflection after one turn. It made up the difference AND followed my turn...even though I had nearly double its turning capacity.

I've noticed that whenever that happens to me, the orik is moving EXTREMELY fast, and I wonder if that gives it an advantage...

I've seen those as well, but this was just a normal, stupid missile.

Surely turn is turn, full stop. I mean, when you're designing a ship, the more heavy stuff you put on the lower your turn rating becomes, and a missile has a fixed turn rating...?

I've also occasionally been out-turned by a missile while flying a high-turn rating ship, which seemed illogical.

rofl, dude, 73 degrees is 73 degrees! If the missile turns better because it is lighter, the maximum turning indicator should reflect that, shouldnt it?

It does show in that number, but 'now to something completely different':
I really start wondering what's the point of this thread? So far you countered each and every suggestion with a repitition of your own observation, which - no offense - doesn't quite give us any insight into the situation to find more suitable explanations.

hm. I spose I didnt mean to be countering every suggestion, so much. I was just clarifying the conditions of my situation...at first. I think the most logical explaination is...the physics of how the missile flies is different from a ship, same as the detection method, which I also questioned. I spose. w00t!

Sorry if I offended anyone!

So does that mean that turn ratings for missiles are not the same as turn ratings for ships? That doesn't seem to make sense!

I cant come up with another logical explaination!
