Wingmen following ? bug is fixed

Post by Sean OConnor » Thu Aug 10, 2006 10:54 am

I've fixed the bug where your wingmen "cheat" and home in on an unseen enemy ship instead of going for the ? symbol which is where they assume the enemy will be. This new version is 4.0e and if you've downloaded the password protected version lately this new version is at the same link with the same password.

Cool! Does this work both ways, i.e. if an enemy ship/wingman loses "sight" of one of your squadron?
Dinosaurs aren't extinct, they're just hiding behind things.
Kangaroos are just mice standing much closer to you.

Yes, that's right. It should be easier to sneak away from enemy ships now.

Horay!

Except ... oh darn it, not it's going to take forever to catch that last freighter that your wingmen spotted in the dogfight and then lost again!

:P

I should have saved that link. Since it's password protected, can you post it here or should I send you an email?

Yes, that could be a problem! Maybe this will make ships with more radars more useful though.

Your wingmen will go to the point where the ? is and then search round a bit so hopefully that will help them spot the last freighter.

id like to say something...with the advent of the correction of the "cheating AI" bug, stealth is GOOD! gone are the days when you had to fly around looking for a good shot while being hounded by every enemy, or when you were perfectly aligned to shoot some daycorns at some slow, lumbering ship but it somehow manage to dodge them. now, with some stealth, you can easily sneak around and blast some poor unsuspecting enemy with geenees from behind.

Oh no, no more "hacking wingmate" trick! ;_;

Ah well, it's all for the better, time to abuse the "missile every 29 turns" trick :P

That missile trick doesn't seem to work for me... no idea why's that.
