Net-play, but where

Post by MortVader » Sun Jan 02, 2005 1:06 am

Hey, not sure how to go about this thing. As mentioned in another thread, there is no central server to guide us towards public games.

In an attempt to do.. anything, I've made this little list:

http://www.mortenlassen.dk/slay/

If people start using it extensively, I will expand its non-functionality ;] to something a bit smarter. But let's see if theres any potential for it at all..

Very Very good MortVader
Its a great start, made me so pleased, i would of loved to of been able to made one but i only know basic html so i couldnt

Dont give up if it takes a while for people to use it, i am sure they will come.

I have added to it.

BTW PEOPLE...if there is only you on it then you wont be able to start a game unless there is at least 1 other, if you wait long enough there will be others :)

if anyone wants to host a server but dont have a static ip-address (ip adress changes on reconnect) then goto...
http://www.no-ip.com
and get a FREE dinamic ip address like i have
then download and "install no-ip duct", this will update your DINAMIC ip address with your REAL ip address

Also sean if "MortVader" decides to keep up this link and advance it further maybe you could make this thread a sticky or put a link to it ?
Would be great to have a whole bunch of servers for us to all to connect to instead of hunting around for players :)
will my pc ever be fast enough?

I won't take it down unless it goes completely deserted.

If it gets used, I will improve it.

now you need to go to http://www.mortenlassen.dk/slay/

and report your dinamic ip address there for people to be able to connect :)

i tried some time ago to start a slay email list

almost no one there but there it is:

www.cruzan.info goto hobby link goto conquest link

it has a slay and conquest email list...

encrypted emails too so spam bots can't get ur email...
if you run..you'll only die tired

How do I set up a server?

Post by Dave W » Tue Feb 15, 2005 4:08 pm

Hi!

I just registered my copy of SLay... found it on
the net about a week ago. Great game! But I'm
eager to play against people.... the AI is pretty
good but it falls for the same traps all the time.

I have a static IP address -- how do I set up my 'puter to be a Slay server?

Cheers,
Dave

Get Yahoo Messenger and add cme264. when you catch me online we can set up a game. there used to be a big group who hooked up through YM but it kind of dwindled.

We had a four player game today at 12 noon Pacific Standard Time (that's 8pm Greenwich I think). It was a lot of fun and we'll probably do it again next Saturday at the same time. All are welcome.
