Most unbelievable stretch of luck
In the last 4 days I have had 2 good commanders; a Captain (Odin) and an Admiral (adf asdf). They both had 8+ Gold Crosses. The Admiral actually had Gold Crosses for about a third of his 55 missions (19).
And that is where this stretch of unbelievable luck comes in. With adf asdf at about mission 17, I started getting Gold Crosses like crazy. I got maybe 9 or 10 in a row. It was good.
Unfortunately, both commanders are dead now. Odin perished in a Major Engagement (missile out of nowhere!) and adf asdf died in an Attack Starbase mission (no way out!! Both my escape pod and my ship were destroyed).

Well, on the keyboard, the keys go like this:
q w e r t y u i o p [ ] \
.a s d f g h j k l ; ' (Enter)
..z x c v b n m , . / (Shift)
As you can see, on the second row, the first for keys are a, s, d, and f.
So I must have just put my hand on the second row and hit keys (since your thumb is mostly used for the spacebar).

I have three treefrogs.
You have to take the chlorine out of water or it kills them. Same with fish.

Especially for frogs they 'chew' with their eyes.
