Your commander died? Just create another one.

Sorry to be so harsh. But, once you know that when you commander dies he's really dead, well, you start to think a bit more about your actions while playing. As you would if you yourself were in that ship.

and dont exit the game before the mission ends if he is dead, because he gets stuck in limbo. You cant re-open the game, and he doesnt make it to the ROH. I have a commander over a thousand missions with like 99% successes, hes stuck there. I was so mad when he died. lol. Then I got even madder when I saw that he didnt exist. The save game is still there, but it wont open. I cant open it with any of the readers. I'm going to cry.
Ya, and dont tell him how to resurrect a commander. Its stupid. Makes you think a little more on ship designs too, if you have to make sure the ship will keep him alive.
PS: Die in a fire.

I poop, therefore I am.
Visit the Roll Of Honour Reader - See all the 'hidden' information topic within a few days. I'm going to release the final version of my "Commanders Manager", which will allow you to finally get your dead commander into the Roll Of Honour!ima_gnu wrote:and dont exit the game before the mission ends if he is dead, because he gets stuck in limbo. CMROHM (at least version 1.1) should be able to open it.ima_gnu wrote:I cant open it with any of the readers.

No, you know what, I'd really like to know too!
This game should have an "easy mode", because if I knew that you couldn't go back to saved games after dieing, I wouldn't have paid money for this game.
Some of us have horrible luck, and get fusterated when we loose all our progress every time we get anywhere, and the point of a game is to have fun, if it isn't fun, it's not serving it's purpose.

Well at first you die a lot, sure, and it gets frustrating, but the point is that then you try really hard not to die. If you could simply resurrect dead commanders then the game would lose a lot of its fun. You would simply play a commander to like mission 250 then stop playing the game because every time it would be the same.

I HAVE been trying really hard not to die, but short of ejecting the moment I see enemies it only works for so long.
Some of us dont have a whole lot of time to play, and would like to actually make it past mission 25 sometime this year.
Now maybe being able to reload dead commanders from saved games would be less fun for YOU, but no ones forcing you to, however I'd find it more fun to be able to, so why should I be denied that because you wouldn't enjoy it?
